Bigger chute (pic 3) is known as Ricochet. Another good line to skier's left that isn't obvious from the top - Serendipity.

I have rapped off of them and they didn't rotate. I think that since the webbing is equalized between the holes in the sides, that it prevents it. I like your method of a T.

Curious. I too have fabricated my own snow pickets for a small snow climb in Colorado. In my design, we chose not to use a single, 90 bend, piece of aluminum, rather we riveted two together to make a T. Do you find that there is torque without a flange to counter rotation when a load is applied?

Hey John! We were skiing up at Mores in November. These were the first turns at Copper. The snow is there, it's just not as deep as we would like! Let's definitely get out after Christmas. I have a few places that you might really like!

Sorry in the delay on posting the comment. The blog site decided that I needed to look at the comment first. I'll have to figure out how to turn it off, it's annoying.

Yeah, I dropped in first on all of the shots. Each line was a slide path, but the snow was pretty stable. We dropped a cornice into the first chute and only sluffed off.

I've got some project lines near Carey, if you are interested in linking up this spring. And I'm sure I'll be in your neighborhood once the corn starts to ripen!

Spooky looking snow, I can almost feel the hackles on the back of your neck. Video #2 looks like an old, well greased avalanche chute. is that you dropping in first on both shots? Don't you know you're supposed to trade near death experiences with your partner, or did he agree to cut in all the skin track as a trade? Good stuff!! I'm afraid winter is ending, Id love to see it deep and steep like that again, I'd take my turn in the bucket!

Big and largely undone out here but the Range usually blows ass till late winter. There is some amazing stashes if one is willing to tent it though. I spend a lot of time in the easy to get Pioneer stuff in early winter. You're right, We should nail some big lines!!

Got the boxes done. Turned out pretty well. Did a 20" one with a 14" stackable extension. Kinda trick. Found some extra 1/4" rubber gym floor to surface the top deck. Very nice addition. Thanks for the inspiration.

I'll be in your neck of the woods over Christmas. Taking my bad ass 15 and 13 year old nephews up in the Pioneers for a little winter mountaineering schooling. If we get some snow, we are going to climb and ski the North Couloir on Cobb. Can't wait.
